The Town of Cochrane describes its portal for public engagement at its website as “Let’s Talk Cochrane”. I believe it is time to “Let’s Really Talk Cochrane”.  I invite you to join me at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the Super 8 Motel in Cochrane to have a chat about Cochrane’s municipal government.

Cochrane’s current Town Council, left to right above, consists of Susan Flowers, Marni Fedeyko, Alex Reed, Mayor Jeff Genung, Morgan Nagel, Tara McFadden and Patrick Wilson. Flowers, Fedeyko, Reed, Genung and Wilson are now into their second term as councillors. Nagel is into his third term and McFadden is into her fifth term. The next municipal election will be held on Oct. 25, 2025.

Examples of some of the items we could talk about in our chat:

• Are you satisfied with the performance of our current Town Council, and, if not, why?
• What, if any grievances do you have about our current Town Council, individually or as a whole?
• What would you like to see improved in terms of how the Council goes about its business?
• Would you or do you know someone who would be willing to be a candidate for Town Council?
